                                                                                Edwin T.
Brondo, Jr.

Edwin (“Ed”) Brondo joined Steinbach & Associates, P.C. in 2014.  His primary practice areas are business & corporate law, commercial transactions and commercial litigation and estate planning and administration/litigation.  Ed also regularly assists clients with corporate compliance, commercial real estate, and asset protection.

Business & Corporate

In his business and corporate practice, Ed represents clients on business matters, corporate transactions, corporate governance and compliance issues, corporate intellectual property protection and commercial real estate matters.  He regularly provides general  counsel to clients, assists with mediating and creatively resolving partnership/business disputes, and advises clients on succession planning.  Ed’s interest in these areas grew out of a background in business and economics, which allows him to help clients achieve their business goals and avoid litigation whenever possible. His corporate practice also includes assessing the effectiveness of corporate compliance programs and providing compliance training on areas such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other anti-bribery laws, ITAR, information and technology governance and e-Discovery.  Ed also consults with clients on internet issues (terms of use, privacy policies, domain names, etc.), unfair trade practices/competition, risk assessment and product literature, and  regulatory compliance for certain specialized businesses.

Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution

Ed is also a seasoned litigator.   He regularly appears in federal and state courts in New York and New Jersey, and throughout his career has tried and arbitrated many cases before various courts and other administrative tribunals across the country.  His litigation experience includes commercial litigation, contract disputes, intellectual property protection and prosecution, unfair trade practices/competition, product liability defense, property and land use matters, firing range litigation, employment and environmental matters, construction matters and insurance coverage disputes.  Ed has also served as national and regional counsel for a number of product manufacturers where he was responsible for managing litigation through local counsel, including overseeing pleadings, discovery, motions, expert witnesses and settlement negotiations.  During his career, Ed has successfully represented clients in many highly complex cases through which he developed a sound understanding of various areas of science and engineering.  He is also experienced in the use of alternative dispute resolution to promote efficient and economic results.

Estate Planning & Administration

Ed’s practice also includes estate planning, asset protection and estate administration.  Ed regularly represents clients in estate administration matters throughout New York and New Jersey, including probate, administration proceedings, will contests and estate litigation.  As a part of his estate planning practice, Ed assists New York and New Jersey clients with preparing wills, irrevocable life insurance trusts (ILITs), living trusts, dynasty trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, health care proxies, advance directives and estate and inheritance tax planning.   Ed’s experience with estate planning coupled with his extensive business and corporate experience also makes him especially well-equipped to assist clients with various aspects of asset protection including dynasty planning and using and setting up corporate entities and trusts for asset protection purposes.

Ed lives in Bergen County, New Jersey with his wife Lauren, their son Connor and their daughter Arden.  In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and basketball, and spending time with his family.
